⚖️ Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 25, 2026 • Version: 1.0
Welcome to Banstone ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Banstone Discord application, bot commands, and web dashboard ("Service"). By inviting Banstone to your Discord server or using our Service, you agree to comply with these Terms, as well as the Discord Terms of Service, Developer Policy, and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Banstone is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc.
1. Description of Service
Banstone is a community safety, moderation, and server protection utility. It provides:
- A local member footprint registry to track moderation signals (timeouts, kicks, role edits, bot logs).
- Heuristic risk scoring to recommend review cases for staff.
- A shared registry for verified ban cases submitted with evidence.
- Auto-quarantine features configured by server administrations.
2. Platform Disclaimers & Limitations
Banstone operates strictly as an independent third-party bot and dashboard. You explicitly acknowledge and agree that Banstone:
- Does not access official, private Discord Trust & Safety reports.
- Does not access private user account standings or hidden Discord reputation scores.
- Does not access private Discord Direct Messages (DMs).
- Does not access hidden Discord-wide punishment records.
Heuristic Scoring Recommendation
Moderation footprints and risk scores are calculated as heuristic risk signals based on available server events. They do not constitute official verdicts, absolute proof of guilt, or absolute character assessments. All automatic actions are optional and configurable; server administrators are solely responsible for verifying signals before enforcing permanent punishments.
3. Account Security & Web Dashboard
Administrators must authenticate dashboard access using secure channels (e.g. Discord OAuth2 / OTP). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your session tokens and API keys. If you suspect any unauthorized access or data leak, notify us immediately.
4. Abuse & Prohibited Activities
You agree not to use Banstone to:
- Conduct targeted harassment, doxxing, or malicious public shaming of any user.
- Submit fake, altered, or malicious reports against users without verified evidence.
- Profile users for purposes unrelated to community safety, such as compiling demographic data or protected-class inferences.
- Scrape, mine, or bulk harvest member profiles.
- Evade Discord Terms of Service or policy guidelines.
We reserve the right to suspend Service, revoke active API keys, and block servers that are found to be abusing the registry or violating these guidelines.
5. Dispute, Correction, & Appeals Process
Server owners must maintain a valid appeals pathway if they enforce automated quarantine or bans. If you are flagged in the global Banstone registry, you can submit an appeal through the Appeals Queue portal on our dashboard or through the bot slash command. If you believe data is incorrect or wish to request hard deletion under your data privacy rights, contact our support team at support@banstone.dev.
6. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Server owners will be notified of major policy changes, and continued use of the bot after updates constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
